It’s the start of nothing good.
I fired off a storm of raunchy text messages…to the wrong number.
And he replied.
Him: Show me a picture.
Him: Tell me your name.
Why does the lure of anonymity have me craving to indulge a stranger?
It’s the start of everything right.
I received a slew of text messages…when everything in my life was wrong.
And she made me laugh again.
Her: You’re probably a creeper.
Her: Possibly a stalker.
Why do I have the overwhelming need to find this stranger who saved me and make her mine?
Him: Take a chance with me.
Her: This is crazy.
Him: I need to see you.
Her: What are we doing?
Him: We’re about to find out.
Her: PHOTO ATTACHED
Him: PHOTO ATTACHED
Text 2 Lovers was a super cute, playful read—one I really enjoyed! K Webster and J.D. Hollyfield did a fantastic job with mixing all the emotions needed for a well-rounded romantic comedy. It had the perfect blend of sweet, heartfelt, and laugh-out-loud moments.
“Mortified was putting it lightly on how I felt as I read through them. Those crude messages were not me. I barely swear. I never swear, but in one night, I decided to start drinking and go all out, bringing out this person I never knew existed.”
Our heroine Dani is a people pleaser—she’s the girl who can’t say no. She lacks self-confidence, and people easily take advantage of that. After a horrible break-up, Dani “meets” Ram during an accidental drunk text to a wrong number. Ram, the recipient, of her texts has pretty much hit rock bottom—he’s jobless and depressed. Dani quickly becomes the light in the dark for him. I adored these two characters. In their relationship, they grew together. They overcame personal struggles, and brought out the best in each other.
“For a guy who hasn’t smiled in a while, I’ve done a lot of that in the past six hours or so. All from a stranger’s texts that weren’t even meant for me.”
This story also had some amazing secondary characters. She may have gotten on my nerves a bit, but Dani’s best friend, Andi had some of the funniest lines. She’s pretty much Dani’s backbone–the friend who has always been there for her. And Roman– *sigh*–Ram’s older brother. I loved him and can’t wait for his and Andi’s book!
“There is just something to be said about getting to talk freely to a complete stranger without having to out your real self, and I was kind of enjoying my new friend. Ram.”
If you’re a fan of romantic comedies, then I highly recommend Text 2 Lovers! It’s a fun read full of swoony moments, and a little angst with an adorable couple that I absolutely loved!
