My Review

4.5 Forbidden Stars!

This was my first read by Ava Harrison and it certainly won’t be my last. Student-teacher relationships have become one of my favorites—especially when they’re done right. Ava’s crafting of this taboo relationship was PERFECT. There was no turning back once I jumped on the emotional roller-coaster of Lynn and Carson’s relationship.

“Carson Blake is as affected by me as I am of him. This isn’t an illusion. I didn’t imagine this. We both feel it. We both want this. It should scare me, but it doesn’t. Instead, I can finally breathe.”

Taboo. Forbidden. Off limits…is the definition of this relationship. However, I challenge you to forget all that and give this story a read–it was SO much more than those words. Lynn and Carson’s journey was complex, emotional, hard-fought, and angsty.

Illicit was a captivating journey about two people with similar hard, loveless pasts who find each other. I absolutely LOVED this story and hope you’ll give it a chance!
