Rosie

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They’re right.

No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.

He is my forbidden, shiny apple.

The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.

He is also my sister’s ex-boyfriend.

One thing you should know before you judge me;

I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.

Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.

Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.

Dean

They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.

She sets my mind on fire.

All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.

In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.

Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.

This time, I fucking dare it to try.

Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that’s why they call me Ruckus.

Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.

And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.

My Review

5 Stars!

This beautiful, beautiful book. L.J. Shen and her HotHoles have become a few of my favorite things. I’m forever being left in a major book hangover after devouring one of these hot, broody alphas. Both her writing and the Sinners of Saint series never fail to draw me in, and leave me wanting more at the end.

Don’t you want to know what I wished for?” My voice came out hoarse. He leaned into my body, his lips pressing against my cheek. “Doesn’t matter what you wished for,” he slurred. “What matters is what you need. I have it, Rosie. And one day—we both know—I will give it to you. In spades.

I was interested in Dean after meeting him in Vicious–he was handsome, confident, and a little cocky. I couldn’t wait to read his story. I knew on the surface he was the guy who lived the party-lifestyle, and enjoyed spending time with women, but his story ended up being so much deeper—one that I wasn’t expecting. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with this alpha. His past was a little tragic, and it seemed the only light in his life was one day reconnecting with Rosie LeBlanc.

You’re breakable, Dean Cole. I’m going to do my best to keep you whole.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt so strongly about a heroine character like I did Rosie. Her story was heartbreaking. She’s not someone who has time on her side, and even though she endures so much from living with an incurable disease, she’s not one to let it cloud her outlook on life.

You shine, Baby LeBlanc. So fucking bright sometimes you’re the only thing I see.

The thing that set this book apart from others for me was Dean and the endless love he had for Rosie. It’s that once in a lifetime love, and with their history—both together and separately, I knew it would be one of those stories that pulled on the heartstrings.

And I saw stars. Stars he hung there—stars that twinkled so much brighter than the ones in the sky.

Ruckus is an emotionally charged second-chance at love. One of those stories that both gutted me, and gave me butterflies. L.J. Shen’s writing was captivating, and the story she crafted for Ruckus was breathtakingly beautiful.
