My Review
Reading an author’s written word–one whose beautiful words evoke so many emotions, they reach in and squeeze my heart throughout one single story. That is my favorite part of this crazy, fun, sometimes stressful journey as a blogger–especially when it’s a “new to me” author. The Weight of Life is the first book I’ve read from Whitney Barbetti—a story that’ll be ingrained in my heart for months to come.
“It’s a choice— to wallow in despair or to acknowledge what can still bring happiness to my life.”
The Weight of Life is a story of two broken people, suffering from grief and heartbreak. They meet in the most unexpected way–not knowing that they’re exactly what each other might just need. My heart broke with Mila and Ames. It broke for them as individuals and again for them as they navigated through their pasts together. This was truly a heartwarming story. When I think of the term, “all the feels,” this is it. You feel their loss, sadness, joy, and their love. I cried with these characters, I laughed, and I swooned. There was nothing I wanted more than these two to find happiness.
“You have an effect on me that I don’t want—but now that I know it exists, I don’t want to let go of it.”
Captivating, profound, beautifully written. The best way I can describe The Weight of Life is butterfly inducing—that literal wing-fluttering feeling in your stomach, butterflies. This is a story that needs to be read and experienced. I absolutely loved everything about it!
